Remember to protect your Basenjis from the harshness of the winter. Limit time outside and provide a nice warm spot inside for them. Coats and booties are a must for long walks or if they are outside longer that a quick potty break. The chemicals used to remove ice and snow is especially harmful not only to their feet, but they could lick and ingest it. Remember to wipe their feet when returning home from walks

Cold Weather Cometh!
Basenjis are notorious for loving their warm places. You will often find them curled-up by the heater or a sunny spot by the window. For those of you in cold climates preparing for the arrival of Fall, and ultimately Winter, remember to think of your Basenji’s needs for warmth.
